Day 1: Upon arrival at the Cusco airport or bus terminal, our team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After some time to rest and adjust to the altitude, you'll begin exploring Cusco with a guided City Tour. Discover the fusion of Incan and Spanish colonial architecture as you visit Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), the Cusco Cathedral, and nearby archaeological sites like Sacsayhuamán, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. This experience offers a powerful introduction to the historical and spiritual heart of the Inca Empire.
Day 2: Today, embark on a full-day tour through the Sacred Valley, an area filled with ancient sites and vibrant culture. Visit the impressive archaeological complex of Pisac and enjoy browsing the local artisan market. Then, continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the last living Incan towns, known for its massive terraces and fortress. Enjoy a buffet lunch with delicious Andean flavors. In the afternoon, head to the train station for your Expedition/Voyager train ride to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll spend the night in preparation for Machu Picchu.
Day 3: Rise early and take the bus up to Machu Picchu, the legendary Inca citadel nestled high in the Andes. With your professional local guide, explore Circuit 2 (subject to availability), visiting temples, plazas, terraces, and other architectural marvels that reflect the sophistication of the Incan civilization. After your tour, return to Aguas Calientes for a tourist menu lunch. Then, board the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to your hotel in Cusco for the night.
Day 4: Begin the day early with a journey to Vinicunca, known as Rainbow Mountain for its vibrant natural colors. Hike through striking Andean scenery, passing alpacas, valleys, and snow-capped peaks. At the summit, enjoy stunning panoramic views and capture unforgettable photos. Following the hike, enjoy a buffet breakfast and lunch. Your professional guide will enrich the experience with insights about the geography, culture, and history of this unique site. Return to Cusco in the evening.
Day 5: After breakfast, set out for a half-day tour of Maras and Moray. Visit Moray’s concentric circular terraces, once used by the Incas as an agricultural experiment station. Then, head to the stunning salt mines of Maras, a complex of over 3,000 salt ponds still in use today. Learn about the ancient salt extraction techniques still practiced by local families. Return to Cusco with plenty of time to enjoy your final evening in this historic city.
Day 6: After breakfast (depending on your flight time), take your last stroll through Cusco or relax before your transfer to the airport or bus terminal. This marks the end of an incredible 6-day adventure through the heart of the Inca Empire, filled with breathtaking sights, unforgettable history, and cultural immersion.
